In a remote valley in the Icelandic countryside, a body is discovered, torn apart by ravens. One detail makes Detective Hildur suspect murder, and with the help of her aunt Tinna, memories of an old case resurface. The clues trace back in time, and Hildur suspects she may have crossed paths with the perpetrator before. The trail leads her to Reykjavík, and to her own family’s most closely guarded secret.

Meanwhile, Jakob is called back to Finland to assist in a case with connections to Iceland. Someone from the past has returned, and Jakob must close a door he has left open for far too long.
